SXSW is a big music festival that goes on every year in Austin and this year, The Decemberists performed their new album, The Hazards of Love, and NPR was there to catch the whole thing.

That’s all old news. What is new news (sounds really odd) is that I finally got around to downloading it (freely available at their website or via iTunes). It comes as one large podcast though. So what I did was use Audacity to cut the large podcast into the individual songs. This took me a little while and I thought I would share it with everyone (ie, make it available here). However, I got as far as uploading it to my server then got scared that I’d be sued or something if I made a freely available audio file available on my website. RIAA, is this what you want?? You’ve scared us all silly and now we fear to share freely available music!

Anyways, now this post turns into a reminder that if you like The Decemberists, you should really check out their show at SXSW over at NPR (or iTunes). Or you can check out the Live Music Archive here, but this doesn’t have their SXSW show.
