The International
So I haven’t put up a movie review in a while, but it doesn’t mean I haven’t been watching movies! Why just the other night I watched The International and I figured I’d tell you what I thought of it. The movie is a crime-drama-psuedo-spy-thriller. It’s one of those movies that goes around the world in search of some sort of villian and has various plot twists along the way. I remember being interested in it when it first came out and wanted to keep an eye out for when it was released on DVD. It stars Clive Owen and Naomi Watts (such a Nicole Kidman lookalike, I hear they’re friends).
You know… it wasn’t bad. In fact, I was downright into the movie until the end. It was suspenseful and kept on moving along with some reveals along the way to keep me interested. I thought the acting was pretty good and everyone seemed pretty believable. The only thing that I didn’t like about this movie was the ending. I don’t want to give anything away but it just felt a bit premature and didn’t really resolve a whole lot for me. I am not the type of person that needs happy endings so you think I’d be good to go. But really, it wasn’t a happy vs sad ending type of deal. It was more that the ending just kind of happened and then the movie was over. Just not a whole lot of resolution to the story. If anyone has seen it, let me know if you felt the same way.
On the whole, not a bad movie, I didn’t feel bad after watching it. Instead I just felt like there was some gaping part of my being that will wait for eternity for another ending to the movie. But I am ok with that, 3/5.
