This weekend Christa and I headed up to St. Vrain for a lovely hike along the (because of all the rain) lush green forest trail. It was my favorite kind of woods, one that just smells alive. After that we headed down to Folsom Field to check out the fireworks. The fireworks were pretty nice since we were so close, they launched over the field. There are a couple of iPhone pictures from there, so don’t expect too much. You can check out the gallery (link above in Outdoors) or check out the images after the break.

It looks like Perrin really likes the outdoors, especially playing in the stream.
Favortie picture was the American flag hanging from a lean-to(?).
The funny thing is, Perrin really doesn't like the water too much. He gets
really scared once the water reaches chest level. We've tried to get him to
swim for some time now but no luck. For some reason, he really wanted to
get to the other side of the stream. Christa was a little nervous he'd be
swept away, but I was playing the role of the confident parent ;)
The flag did look really nice hanging there. I am sure someone just hung it
up because of the 4th weekend, but it made me feel proud somehow to think of
it hanging there always.
