Phone on the ground

I am phoneless for the foreseeable future. My iPhone broke right after the warranty period expired, thanks for that. My option was to replace the iPhone 3G with another for $200. With the 3GS already out and something new most likely getting announced on Wednesday, I said no thank you. But what really sucks is that since I am under contract, I still need to pay the monthly service fee, even though I’ve got no phone. Luckily, I was able to drop the texting plan and data plan, but that still leaves me with a normal talk plan.

I may eventually pick up a cheap phone to hold me over until something new comes out, but for right now I’ve got no phone. I’ll still check messages periodically, though honestly I didn’t get that many calls before. But in case anyone needs me, email will probably be the best way.
