I am getting ready to watch House of Flying Daggers, a Chinese film from 张艺谋. This is the same director who did Hero.
It turns out that since it's actually a Chinese movie, there are no Chinese subtitles. So there goes my great plan of watching the movie in Chinese with Chinese subtitles. That'll have to wait til the next movie.
I watched this movie with Chinese language track and English subtitles. I actually understood a bit of the movie. I didn't understand a lot of the full sentences, but I was able to get a bunch of the one or two word replies that were going back and forth. That's by far the best I've been able to do so far watching these movies.
I'd definitely recommend this movie. As a plus, there is lots of bamboo fighting, and you can't beat that.
